Mad rush for the city looms

Letters

THE Southern Highlands-Gulf Highway is nearly completed.
Central and National Capital District indigenous landowners should prepare in advance because Port Moresby will have to deal with the massive Highlands rural-to-urban drift that this development will trigger.
The population will boom.
With the good, comes the headache.
Economic shifts will surely take place. Opportunities will be massive, and it might be a one-way
traffic rush to the city. Central and NCD indigenous landowners should prepare themselves in advance for the massive challenge as settlements and urban slums become an even bigger problem as has been experienced elsewhere in the developing world when developments such as this happen.
