MADANG Football Club has appointed new coaching and team management staff to steer the club in its 2015-2016 National Soccer League campaign starting next month.

Bob Morris, a veteran Besta United coach and former Madang Fox mentor, has been appointed to coach the Madang side.

He will be assisted by Amos Romo.

The team will be managed by Max Kitao, a respected businessman in Madang and manager of City Guard Security firm.

Madang Soccer Association president Ray Romo confirmed the appointments, saying the decision was reached with the aim of guiding the players  to embrace discipline on and off the field.

Romo said  the appointments were made on merit and experience as Madang hoped to go one better than second place in the final last season.

Romo  said that the team was yet to be finalised but would include Max Sengum, Samuel Kini and Sammy Hiob while Neill Hans stood a good chance to make a return.

He said the train-on squad of 30 players was in camp and would start full training and check-ups this week.

The major sponsor of the franchise is  the Madang provincial government.

Morris said he was prepared to take the team to the next level and would do all he could to produce results.

Morris said the onus was on the players and club management to ensure that the dream of making it to the finals and qualify for the A league came true.

He said he was confident Romo would lead the club with a sure hand.

Club chairman Siegfried Beschel Jnr said he was satisfied with the appointments and had confidence in the new coaching and management team.
