Madang club queries prizes

A CLUB has questioned the Madang Soccer Association’s decision to award different prize monies in its men’s and women’s divisions despite charging the same registration fees.
Tusbab Blue Kumuls official Conrad Wadunah said the registration fee for a week-long pre-season tournament — hosted by MSA — was K200 for men’s and women’s teams.
Wadunah said the decision to award K1,000 and K1,2000 to the women’s and men’s champions respectively was unfair on the game and its stakeholders.
“It is an unfair distribution of the prize monies in the pre-season notice,” he said.
“If my club is to register a men’s team and women’s side, I have to pay a total of K400.
“Why is the prize money less for the women’s division?
“Is MSA an affiliate of the PNG Football Association?
“If it is, then where is fair play?”
