CRICKET continues its resurgence in Madang with the staging of the ‘Corporate Challenge’ on Sunday.
Cricket PNG is continuing with its development of cricket as a sport for the people of the Madang province with the hosting of this event to follow on from the success of the Dulux Cup in September.
The tournament will be played at Yabong Oval in Madang town and all the action will commence at 9am and conclude with the final at 3pm.
The corporate teams competing will be Ela Group, BSP, Telikom and Coca-Cola.
Teams from the Dulux Cup have also been invited back to square off against the corporates.
The Dulux winners, Divine Word University (Diwai) and runners-up, Madang Technical College will compete along with a team from Save the Children (Youth Outreach Project).
As a prelude to the Corporate Challenge the local Battle of the Clubs will be concluding their annual series on Sunday.
The Madang club will be looking to win a consolation game against the Madang Country club who won the first two games earlier in the year.
The grudge match will also be played at Yabong Oval and commence at 8.30am to kick off consecutive Sundays of cricket action.
