THE Madang provincial government yesterday made its views known on the Ramu NiCo project in a strong 20-point position paper.

Governor Jim Kas, representing his government and the province, said the inclusion of the ideas “was after a long consultation with many experts concerned” following a  review of the original 2000 memorandum of agreement.

Among plans highlighted were  independent parties conduct the review process, include Gama LLG in the process, a 3% share of the 20%  royalty to the provincial government be redirected to respective landowners, provincial government to pursue its 2.5% equity and special support grants be increased from  0.25%.
