Madang acting health director Paul Mabong said they were waiting for the availability of Madang Governor Peter Yama and Health Minister Sir Puka Temu to sign the PHA reform agreement.
Mabong said things that needed tidying up before all the hospitals and provincial health functions were transferred to PHA was the transfer of human resources from provincial health and provincial administration to PHA.
According to the Madang administration, the province had more than 1000 health workers.
Modilon Hospital CEO Christine Gawi said the finance part of the transfer to PHA was ok.
Mabong said provincial health functions had a budget of more than K9mil and K1 mil for PHA but could not access just yet.
