Madang murder suspects arrested

A suspect allegedly involved in the murder of Chinese businessman in Madang and two others wanted over questioning for a string of major crimes were arrested in Lae.
The suspects were on a mission to hire a vehicle and return to Madang and execute a well-planned robbery when police intercepted.
They were apprehended at Eriku when attempting to enter a hire car company premises last week.
Met Supt Anthony Wagambie Jr said police discovered three sketched plans of a major super market in Madang after searching them.
“An insider in the Madang shop crafted the map to ensure the suspects knew exact entry and exit points during a robbery,” he said. .
“During interrogation, police confirmed from a mobile phone text message from one suspect that they had travelled to Lae to hire a vehicle and return to Madang to execute the robbery.”
Madang CID identified the alleged murder suspect as Terbert Taku Albert alias Luke Kereku from Madang and Malaguna 1 in Rabaul, East New Britain.
Albert or Kereku is wanted for two counts of armed robbery, one of attempted murder and is wanted for questioning over the robbery and murder of a Chinese businessman in front of BSP bank in Madang last year.
The other was identified as Arthur Ranaipe who has outstanding cases to answer involving attempted robbery and murder of a Malaysian family at Masin Gun beach in Madang. He is out on bail.
