Madang plans event-filled programme to support World AIDS Day

MADANG, like other centres around the country, will be doing its part to support World AIDS Day tomorrow.
Provincial administrator Bernard Lange has given all public servants the day off to participate in the day’s programme, which will be coordinated by Madang district, with district administrator Lawrence Pitor as chairman of the World AIDS Day committee.
Students from schools in Madang, police, Correctional Services, committee members and the people will march to the Bates Oval to witness the flag-raising ceremony in the morning.
A representative from people living with HIV will give a speech on key affected population following up the theme: “Zero HIV in PNG – protect yourself, protect your family, test your blood today, know your tomorrow”.
The keynote speaker will be Archbishop Stephen Reichert, who will launch a booklet titled Listening with love.
