ENGA Mioks prop Gerry Ware will be part of the Magani side to face Souths in today’s Port Moresby Rugby League A grade fixture at the National Football Stadium’s Oval 2.
Ware, who was released by the Mioks club for school, is expected to power Magani working alongside veteran prop Dickson Wallen.
Magani coach Chris Enara said Souths playmakers Japheth Olik and Jonah Bobby of the Gulf Isou would lead the side.
“I’m expecting my best players to step against Souths,” Enara said.
Magani have 7-1-3 record so far after 11 rounds with Enara saying the club had built good momentum heading into the second half of the season.
“We drew with the Butterflies last week, but we’re not worried about the result too much,” Enara said.
“We are looking forward to the game against Souths especially with Gerry back on board with us.”
Enara said despite facing the seventh-placed Souths his side were not discounting their threat.
“We need to concentrate on our game but we’re not going to be taking the Souths lightly no matter what position they’re on the table,” Enara said.
“So far so good; my boys have lifted and I’m happy with that.”
Enara said he had reminded his team to look after the ball and to try to minimise their error rate while being more effective in their sets.
Enara said that he would also be looking to use some players in his wider roster in order to take the load of his first choice players.
