Make district projects public knowledge

WHILE other districts in SHP are utilising their funds effectively, the same cannot be said for Kagua-Erave.

The only “tangible projects” are the unfinished road maintenance from Yellow Bridge to Kagua Station, the district treasury office, the AusAID-funded new hospital and the incomplete road from Kagua Station to Water Bum/Mendi.

What happened to the millions given by the Government each year?

It is time for people see some change in their district. They have been in the dark for too long.

I humbly suggest the government publishes district projects in the media.

I think the people will be happy to know how much is given to the district and what type of projects are being funded.

Then there will be transparency and accountability for district expenditures.

The people can judge their respective MPs’ performance.

It could be another way of minimising corruption at district level.

Publishing the acquittal summary in the papers, and putting it out on public notice boards may have some impact on service delivery in the districts.
