THE Malaysian Association of PNG (MAPNG) has donated K110,000 to two charities in Port Moresby.
Chesire Homes and City Mission Papua New Guinea yesterday received K50,000 and K60,000 respectively from money raised at the association’s charity golf tournament.
Association charity golf fundraising chairman Ivan Lu, with the help of Malaysian High Commissioner Jilid Kuminding and representatives from the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation presented  cheques to a delighted group of recipients.
Chesire Homes acting general manager, Joyce Kaupere thanked the association for its continued support.
“Charity homes are non-profitable organisations that depend on donations from organisations and individuals to help us in the work we do,” she said.
City Mission administrator Dorothy Koch thanked the association for the donation, saying the money would be spent on supporting the Lae and Port Moresby centres.
“City Mission is committed to feeding over a thousand people in our different centres and this timely donation will greatly help us to accomplish that,” she said.
