BEING one of the beneficiaries of the annual MBA Charity Golf fundraiser, City Mission was again fortunate to receive K50,000 from the Malaysian Association PNG (MAPNG) on Monday.
Established in 1993, City Mission (CMPNG) has been one of the recipients of the golf fundraiser since it was started 11 years ago.
MAPNG president Nathan Ho said during the presentation at the CMPNG’s Mirigeda Farm the association was pleased with the amount raised as it had enabled the association to increase the donation to the mission from K30,000 in the past few years to K50,000.
Ho and fundraising organising chairman Ivan Lu said they hoped next year’s fundraising would be better as it “means giving more to the less fortunate and the needy”.
He thanked all corporate organisations and individuals that took part in the successful charity drive this year
CMPNG chairman Hillary Wong said the association had always been a generous supporter of the association.
He said charity organisations like the CMPNG would not be able to operate and help the less fortunate without support from organisations like MAPNG.
Wong said the money donated would support the operation of the mission in their centres in Port Moresby and Lae.
It will also fund the building of new dormitories for boys at the farm.
