Male dominance in question

Letters

MANY people say we live in a male-dominated society.
Men have appeared to be owning the majority of wealth and capital.
They have been in power and influence a lot of laws.
But is really what is happening at the moment?
The term male dominance evolved in the 20th century as a conceptual label to characterise the unequal power relations between men as a group and women as a group.
Times are changing and women are doing things that men usually do.
Some findings say males may excel at motor skills while women may be better at integrating analysis and intuitive thinking.
Yet, in what sense exactly is our society male dominated?
A very tiny proportion of men fall under those dominant roles, nevertheless, a huge proportion of people who are seriously disaffected are men.
Most people in prison are men, most homeless people are men, most victims of violence are men, most people who commit suicide are men, and most people who die in wars are men.
Where is the dominance here precisely?
