CHECKING of people’s temperature and sanitising their hands are mandatory for everyone entering the Vision City Mega Mall in Port Moresby.
Staff member Tracy Bak said if someone’s temperature was 38 degree Celsius or higher, he or she would be advised to sit down for a few minutes after which another temperature reading would be taken.
If their temperature dropped, they would be allowed in. If it remained high, they would not be allowed in.
Bak said they were very busy as people walk in almost every minute.
Customer Leroy Puluk said it was really good to see a set-up like that at the mall because it not only prevented the spread of Covid-19, but emphasised good hygiene practices.
He said the 14-day lockdown had affected his daily activities but it was for the good of everyone.
“I am a smoker and betel nut chewer but their prices have really soared these past days,” he said.
“I was not able to meet with my friends as well but social distancing is important.
“My life is more important than all these things.”
