INMATES in four Mamose Correctional Institutions will undergo a talent identification training to participate in PNG Games 2014 in November.
Prisons include Buimo (Lae), Beon (Madang), Boram (Wewak) and Vanimo.
Aaron Mugaliong from the PNG Sports Foundation-Mamose region assured CS Deputy Commissioner Operations Michael Waipo and Buimo Commander Judy Tara including prisoners yesterday.
Mugaliong said that based on eight protocols (skills criteria) set for the 28 selected sports, training will be conducted in April throughout the jails to identify talented male and female inmates.
The PNG Sports Foundation (PNGSF) Mamose region is collaborating with Jefferey Gideon from the National Sports Institute in Goroka, Eastern Highlands, to conduct the programme.
The talent identification programme was also conducted in communities and schools in Lae, Finschhafen, Bulolo and Madang.
The programme is yet to be run in the other parts of the region.
