ALL commercial programme managers and advisers in the Mamose region are now better prepared to promote small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in their provinces following a regional conference in Maprik, East Sepik, last week.
The Mamose chapter of the SME conference followed on from the recent Northern regional workshop in Madang where SME policy development in the region was discussed.
More than 20 officers from Madang, West and East Sepik provinces took part in the weeklong meeting in which they shared information and heard various presentations.
Officers from Morobe did not attend the conference.
Madang district commerce manager Kostka Sagem said all participants were impressed with the presentations, including that of Central Sepik Business Association of Maprik.
“We will now proceed to develop prlovincial SME policies and the enabling factors to promote the sector,” Sagem said.
