Man appears in court with intent to endanger life

A man appeared in the Waigani Committal Court on Wednesday to face four charges relating to endangering another man’s safety and kidnapping.
Andrew Sallel, 53, from Raikos district in Madang, was charged with endangering safety, negligent causing bodily harm, kidnapping and deprivation of liberty of Go Kim San on Feb 24.
Magistrate John Kaumi allowed the court to hear submissions of insufficiency of evidence from Sallel’s lawyer.
The lawyer argued that evidence presented were “false accusations” and there was nothing to prove the charges.
Kaumi said the court would wait to hear submissions from the prosecution before giving a possible ruling on July 21.
