Man charged for dangerous driving

POLICE have charged a 19-year-old man with dangerous driving causing the death of three youths in the Gordon Barracks in June.
National Capital District traffic police Insp Joseph Salle said man was charged recently after he was admitted in Port Moresby General Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
“The relatives of the suspect said that their son was not the driver at the time of the crash,” he said.
“They refused to accept the fact that he was the driver but there is enough evidence for us to prosecute,” he said, adding that the matter was now before the court.
Salle alleged that the teenager was under the influence of alcohol and drove at high speed, losing control of the steering and vehicle.
The car crashed into a house, killing three youths.
A class six driving licence, belonging to the teenager, was also found in the vehicle.

  • My advice to the relatives please don’t deny or protect the suspect’s involvement in the driving accident coz it will fall on fall deaf ears. Its to late now to isolate the driver from the accident and tell you what he should have followed his victims and present himself to our Almighty Creator to plea his innocence.
