A WOMAN’S refusal to sleep with her husband had forced him to commit adultery with another woman, the Lae District Court heard yesterday.

Tina Boreo had taken her husband Alwin Boreo to court for committing adultery with another woman, Sanet Nalau.

But Alwin told the court that he was forced to look for other women to satisfy himself because Tina had not been giving him sex.

“She doesn’t sleep with me. We are like sister and brother living in the same house,” Alwin told the court.

“She rejected me so I have to look for other women. I need to have a woman in my life.”

Nalau admitted that she had sex with the father-of-six  and expressed remorse for her action when asked by magistrate Nasaling Bingtau if the allegations brought against her and Alwin were true.

Alwin and Nalau allegedly committed adultery on June 7.

Tina however told the court that Alwin was an unfaithful father and was unfaithful to her since they first got married.

“He goes out with many women. Sanet is just one of them,” she told the magistrate.

“He was not faithful to me all the time.

“Because of this, I was afraid of him and kept myself away. I don’t want to get AIDS.”

The court heard that Tina and Alwin were married for 28 years and had grown up children.

Bingtau told the packed courtroom that marriage was based on love and if mistrust and cheating existed it would create problems.

Bingtau ordered Alwin and Nalau to compensate Tina by paying K500 each for the damage they had caused her within 40 days.
