The National, Monday February 15th, 2016
A CHINESE national charged with the dishonest application of K200,000 belonging to a company appeared at the Waigani Committal Court last Thursday.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar read the charge in English to James Zhou Qianbin of Zhenjiang province.
Police alleged that between September 24 and 27 last year, the accused dishonestly applied to his own use K200,000 belonging to his employer, Green International Ltd.
Bidar told the man that it was the reason for being in court.
“This is the reason you are before the court,” Bidar told him.
He told Qianbin it would take some time before police investigations on the case were completed.
He imposed a bail of K4000 and ordered that Qianbin’s passport be surrendered to the court.
Bidar also ordered that the accused report to the court clerk between 9am and 3pm every Friday until his next appearance in court.
The magistrate adjourned the case to March 14. Police Prosecutor Chief Sergeant Polon Koniu requested the court to allow time for investigations to be completed.
