Man charged with murder, rape of two girls

A MAN allegedly killed two young girls before sexually assaulting them on two separate occasions in the past few weeks, a court has been told.
Sarox Martin, 23, from Brumkuat in Finschhafen, Morobe, appeared before Magistrate Pious Tapil in the Committal Court in Lae charged with two counts of wilful murder and two counts of sexual penetration.
The court heard that on Dec 26, 2019 at around 11am, Martin hit Dora Verong, 12, on the head with a rock before sexually assaulting her. Her body was found by villagers four days later in a bush. On Jan 10 this year, Martin allegedly repeated what he did to Verong on Linda Poi, 14.
After Poi’s mother raised the alarm after hearing her scream, villagers organised a search.
Poi’s father allegedly caught Martin assaulting the girl.
Villagers arrested him and took him to the police station.
He admitted to the villagers that he had killed both girls.
The case will return to court today, Jan 20.

    Prime Minister, Please get the Parliament to roll out the Death Penalty for such animals. Let us implement an Eye for an Eye and Tooth for a Tooth. Let us stop talking and wasting time debating. Let us act to protect more women in rural areas as well as urban areas falling victim to such animals. Only God will be the judge. We are not god. Let us clean this place by applying the most severe penalty on mentally sick people such as this. Our beautiful country does not need such disease to co-exist. Enough is enough.
