Man charged with robbery

A GOILALA man accused of stealing money from a carjacking incident in Sabama, Port Moresby, appeared in the Waigani Committal Court on Wednesday.
Michael Omaiko, also known as “Tomtom”, 28, from Peau village, Goilala, Central, stood before Magistrate Ernest Wilmot charged with armed robbery. It was alleged that on Aug 31, Omaiko with three other accomplices at Sabama, held up a Chinese national and a Papua New Guinean Andrew Herebe at gun point.
They were alleged to have stolen K87,300 belonging to Yilong Enterprise Hogi supermarket located at Manu auto port. The robbery took place as the pair were transporting the money along Kilakila highway.
