Man charged with theft of K52,000

A MANAGER of a company in East New Britain was charged for misappropriating money amounting to K52,000 believed to be from the staff club.
New Guinea Islands Divisional Commander ACP Francis Tokura said the suspect had been identified as Robert Andamo, 32, from Woginara village in Dagua, East Sepik province and was the area manager of Rabaul Pacific Towing Limited.
He was charged by police on Monday after investigations revealed that he had misused
K52,809.
ACP Tokura said he was taken into custody on Monday and appeared before the Kokopo District Court for mention yesterday.
The suspect’s case was adjourned to Oct 20 to allow police to complete their files.
Meanwhile, in West New Britain, a Grade 3 female student at Bali Island was in trauma after she was recently raped by three male students attending the same school she attends.
ACP Tokura said the 12-year-old female student was walking home after school when one of the 17-year-old male student pulled her into the nearby bushes, along with two of his friends, and raped her.
Police deployed to the island on Monday and charged the male students for abduction, unlawful detention and rape and brought them to Kimbe where they were remanded at the Kimbe police station.
