A MAN claims that he was attacked by a dog belonging to a security firm in Madang while he was walking past a bank in town.

Banabas Wagi, 43, of Madang, said he had to punch the dog’s jaws to force it off him.

He said he was walking past the bank when the dog jumped out of a fence and sunk its teeth into his stomach.

“When it bit my stomach, I screamed and punched its jaw twice and stuck my right palm between its teeth,” he said.

Wagi said the dog handler had released the dog’s lead and was caught off guard.

Wagi said he had notified the security firm in Madang to pay him K10,000 in compensation.

Attempts made to get comments from Guard Dog Security management were unsuccessful.
