Man denies car theft, driving case

A man charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and unlawful use of a vehicle pleaded not guilty in the Waigani court last Friday.
The court heard that on Oct 14, 2016, Allan Kaivaku, 37, from Mabudawane village in South Fly, Western, drove a vehicle and allegedly caused it to roll down Borogaina Road, Hohola.
Kaivaku and his co-accused used the vehicle belonging to Niugini Glass and Aluminium Ltd without the consent of the complainant, according to his charge.
It was alleged that they took the keys from the custodian’s pocket when he was sleeping. They had been drinking together. Three passengers were at the back of the utility vehicle and one of the passengers landed on his head when they were thrown out.
