A MAN was killed in Passam, East Sepik, last Thursday after being allegedly attacked by his wife’s relatives, according to police.

Mamose police chief, acting assistant commissioner Chief Supt Nema Mondiai said the region was otherwise relatively quiet during the Easter weekend.

He said the death was a case of domestic violence.

The man was rushed to the Boram Hospital but died on the way.

He said provincial police commanders including the Lae Metropolitan Commander reported no other major incidents.

“It was quiet all throughout the long Easter weekend apart from few incidents,” he said.

“Police were on special operations during the weekend to ensure people were celebrating Easter in a quiet and peaceful environment.”

He commended the public in the Mamose region for celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in a respectful manner.
