Man discharged when police fail to provide evidence
THE Waigani Committal Court has discharged a man after police failed to provide evidence against him.
Magistrate Comas Bidar yesterday discharged Kennedy Tolai Namp, charged with stealing K4400 from another person,
The court was told that Namp had spent seven months in prison waiting for the police to complete their investigation, and to this date no files have been submitted to the court.
Namp is originally from Kurumul in Jiwaka. Police alleged that on Sept 15, 2015, at BSP Boroko, in Port Moresby, Namp stole K4400 from Anna Gonna.
It was alleged that the money was given to Namp to go and deposit it in the bank for an order of 20 boxes of day-old chicks from Zenag.
