Man fighting for his life after accident

A MAN is fighting for his life at the Port Moresby General Hospital after a route 600 bus collided with a company vehicle yesterday morning at Laloki along the Hiritano Highway in Central.
Central Traffic officer Constable Israel Turi said the victim was a passenger on the bus and there were no other casualties.
He said the driver of the bus who was allegedly drunk fled the scene.
Turi said the bus was travelling at high speed when it collided with the company vehicle.
He said the passenger sitting on the offside was stuck in the wreckage when police, fire services and ambulance personnel arrived at the scene.
Turi said the injured passenger was extracted and rushed to the hospital.
He said police were unable to identify the injured passenger while the driver of the bus was later identified by the bus owner.
Turi said he would be formally arrested and charged today.
