A LAE man’s phone lines have been running hot in the past week because of his name.
He is David Pondros, who has the same name as that of another man charged with stealing K6 million.
The only thing he thought he could do to clear his name was to add his middle name.
He turned up at The National’s Voco Point office in Lae, Morobe, and declared: “I am David Parkop Pondros. The man charged with stealing is David Kumalau Pondros.”
Both are from Manus.
Parkop Pondros, 58, is from Pare Nohang village.
Kumalau Pondros, 47, from Timoenai village, Lorengau, was an air steward-cum-building consultant.
Parkop Pondros is involved in real estate. He is the property manager of the Anglican church of Papua New Guinea.
“I have no connections or relationship with this David Kumalau Pondros,” he said.
