Man in court for attempt murder

 A MAN charged with attempted murder of a woman appeared before magistrate Cosmas Bidar at the Waigani Committal Court yesterday. 

Barnabas Doa, from Kuip, in Nebilyer, Western Highlands, is alleged to have attempted to kill the woman on Oct 18 at Konedobu, in the National Capital District. 

Bidar told Doa the case would go through committal proceedings, meaning the court would determine if there was sufficient evidence for the case to go to the National Court. 

Bidar said it would take some time for police to complete their investigations and advised Doa to find a  lawyer to assist with bail application. 

Doa remains in custody and will appear for mention on Nov 28.
