A MAN was seriously injured and three others concussed in a car accident at Motukea outside Port Moresby last Thursday.
Security manager Carlos Quinteros told The National that two women and two men were visiting relatives when they collided with a truck belonging to the Curtain Brothers.
“Apparently, the one that was sitting on the passenger side got thrown off and was run over by the vehicle he was travelling in,”  he said.
Quinteros said the man was rushed to a hospital.
NCD Metropolitan Superintendent Benjamin Turi, who attended to the scene, said the four were drinking.
According to relatives who arrived at the scene, all four were from Baruni village.
Meanwhile, drink-driving is becoming common in Port Moresby despite police road blocks. Police have warned motorists not to drive when under the influence of alcohol.
“It’s easy to think you’re alright to get behind the wheels after a few drinks. But it’s just easy to forget that you’re endangering your life and the lives of others,” Turi said.
