A 20-YEAR-OLD man who assaulted a security guard who ordered him to clean up his friend’s urine was jailed six months by the Boroko District Court.
Magistrate Rosie Johnson told Samson Mark, from Mendi in Southern Highlands, that the sentence would teach him a lesson to respect public property.
“This is a property owned by BSP bank for public use,” she said.
Why did you ask your friend to urinate in there?
“If they asked you to clean it, you should have cleaned it.
“The guards are not there to clean people’s waste.
“They are there to provide security and help those who need help to use the ATM.”
She also said she hoped other people would not do the same “stupid thing” in public.
