Man kills with two punches

JOE Avosi, a 19-YEAR-old man from Popo village in Malalaua district, Gulf province, was charged with murder at the Waigani Committal Courts yesterday.
According to police files, the murder occured outside Kirakira settlement on Dec 31when John Toveta and his wife were on their way home.
Toveta, who was allegedly drunk and making a nuisance of himself, was led away by his wife.
However, they both fell and the wife got up and left.
Avosi later appeared and punched Toveta twice on the chest and left him lying on the ground.
Toveta was then rushed to the Port Moresby General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The court found sufficient evidence for the case and fixed Jan 25 for a National Court hearing.
