Man on false pretence charge appears in court

 A MAN charged with obtaining K5500 by false pretence from another man more than two years ago appeared in the Waigani Committal Court on Wednesday.

Magistrate Cosmas Bidar read the charge to Axie Alibiang Akinu, from Piakana village in Tambul-Nebilyer of Western Highlands.

The court heard that Akinu pretended to Daniel John Ekar and obtained the money at Hohola 1 in National Capital District on Aug 21, 2013. Detail to the allegation was not disclosed because a copy of the police facts sheet was not provided to the court.

Bidar said it was an allegation and the police would investigate and come up with evidence to prove it and an investigation file would be served to Akinu when ready.

Akinu, who is on a K500 extended bail, will appear for mention on April 13.

Meanwhile, Grace Nuesa, from the Philippines, was charged with dishonestly using K8,220 belonging to another person. 

The time of the offence and detail of the charge was not provided in court by the police prosecution.
