A COURT has issued an arrest warrant for a man charged with stealing more than K15,000 from another man after he failed to turn up in court.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar ordered the arrest of Freddie Akoman, 30, from Yapos village, Wapenamanda in Enga, after he failed to appear at the Waigani Committal Court.
Bidar said Akoman had not appeared in court since he was arrested and charged on May 25.
He set aside his bail of K500 and ordered his arrest.
The case returns to court on July 28.
It is alleged that between February 15 and March 7, 2016, at Gerehu Stage Three in the National Capital District, Akoman entered the premises of a Jeff Katenge while it was vacant.
He allegedly took a Bank of South Pacific visa card with its pin number and withdrew money from various Automatic Transaction Machines in Port Moresby totalling to K15,222.50.
