The Eastern Stars management has commended their players and followers for their support, despite the club falling short of a spot in the grand final.
“While we fell short of reaching the grand final, we are happy with our achievement given that we started late in our preparations and had to wait till the last round to progress to the final eight,”
Eastern Stars deputy chairman Joseph Ealedona said yesterday.
“We’re now in the final four and this weekend we will see if we get third spot.
“We are looking at establishing a fan club for the Eastern Stars because of the huge numbers we are seeing and this will be announced in the near future.
“It has been a dream run and credit must go to Hekari United.
“We also wish Toti City and Morobe United all the best.”
City play Hekari in the grand final and Morobe United face the Stars in the third-place playoff, with both clashes to be played at the Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby on Saturday.
Ealedona encouraged his players to finish strongly in their final match against Morobe, as the team look forward to preparing for next season.
