Managing school funds

THERE was an article regarding tuition-fee free fees recently.
This government policy is meant to ease the financial burden of parents, especially those with no formal source of income.
On the other hand, the management of the TFF funds is poor.
I have seen village leaders put on school boards and appointed as signatories to the school account and are then used by the headmaster and teachers to get funds for school projects with a Vulipindi pasin.
The Education Department needs to check and audit all school accounts and hold people accountable.
It must also check the source of the funds.
Education is the only way forward for this country with the land and its resources. Imagine if all of us cannot read or write.
Outsiders will come and rule us.
