Manning’s decision raises questions

Letters

LET me air my views on the article “Manning confirms 33 transfers”, published in The National, on Monday, page 6.
I am so disturbed that Manning saw fit to transfer hard working police officers and shifting them around at this time when we are experiencing an unstable government.
Why did Manning do those changes?
Is he playing politics here?
Has the commissioner been sleeping all these days when our members danced around our Parliament? The most disturbing move was throwing out a very dedicated, hardworking and admired officer Supt Mathew Damaru from the police headquarters.
Many Papuan New Guineans admire the tireless no-nonsense Damaru who tried his best to keep the force’s credibility.
Why did Manning demote a hard working officer such as Damaru?
Manning should support Supt Damaru in his efforts to fight corruption and investigate high profile cases.
Is Manning joking or what?
Does he not appreciate Supt Damaru’s performance?
Supt Damaru should be promoted rather than being given a slap in his face by being removed out of Konedobu.
Manning should be sacked immediately.
He has no regard to fight corruption in this country.
Some of our police officers are putting their lives, families and future at risk to uphold our laws and credibility of the police force.
Here we have a commissioner who does not appreciate officers’ efforts.
Manning should be replaced for indirectly supporting corruption by removing hard working officers such as Supt Damaru and others.
This is madness for sure.
