Manufacturers continue to see growth

MAJOR fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturers in the country continue to experience growth and an increase in sales during the Covid-19 pandemic and after the measures were relaxed.
Paradise Foods Ltd chief executive James Rice said the business continued to grow during the Covid-19 pandemic and sales had been 31 per cent higher than last year.
“Our business has continued to rise during the state of emergency period and afterwards. Our sales are 31 per cent higher than last year,” he said.
Coca-Cola Amatil (PNG) Ltd general manager Philippe Mondada said the sector performed strongly as per the results from the recent survey due to the fact that most were staple food producing manufacturers and consumer out-of-pocket spending was limited hence, prioritising affordable essentials.
Meanwhile, the Ilimo Dairy Farm noted growth resulted from the increasing support from the customers switching from buying imported goods to local products.
