THE Manus Professionals for Community Development Inc (MP4CD) is hosting an end of year corporate dinner and Miss Manus 2012 fundraiser.
The dinner will be on Saturday at the Dynasty Restaurant, Vision City, Port Moresby.
MP4CD is supporting Miss Manus 2012, Anna Hosea, with her humanitarian activities a part of the Red Cross.
Money raised during the event will go towards the association’s short-term projects as well as helping Hosea with her fundraising drive.
The guest speaker will be Dr Nao Badu, former chairman and chief executive officer of the National Economic Fiscal Commission.
MP4CD is a non-profit voluntary organisation whose mission is to be a forum where Manusians can take part in the
development of the province.
It aims to provide advisory support and technical assistance in skills and knowledge to help its provincial government and communities where needed.
Before its formal establishment in January last year, its main activity was and continues to be the Manus Google Discussion Group, which brings together more than 800 subscribers globally to a mailing list through their email addresses.
MP4CD operates to a great extent using email and internet technology for communication and networking to its financial members and to the
greater distinguished group.
This year, MP4CD actively carried out its activities.
The initial open forum, which took place in Port Moresby in June, was a huge success, bringing together just over 100 Manusians into discussion groups on major target areas for development.
Those areas included transport, communications, education, health, wealth creation and service delivery mechanisms.
Tickets are selling for K100 for individuals and K2,000 for corporate tables.
