Manwau: I respect people’s choice

OUSTED Wewak MP Dr Moses Manwau has accepted his election defeat saying he respects the people’s choice of their leaders.Manwau said the election was about finding a leader and leadership responsibility.
“Leadership responsibility is about serving the common interest of the general public,” Manwau said.
He won the seat in the court of disputed returns in the last parliament.
As MP for less than 16 months, he provided basic government services to everyone without discrimination.
“I left my tribe of politics and the join a government of service with Peter O’Neill,” Manwau said.
“However the people of Wewak district have chosen not to work and earn their living but to receive handouts.”
He said the people’s decision to choose their leader should always be respected.
Manwau said he was proud to have contributed to the welfare of the people of Wewak district, East Sepik province and PNG.
He believed that he had fought hard to deliver equal basic government services to the people in the electorate and province. “I would like to thank my party, People’s National Congress, which has supported me in my stay in parliament,” Manwau said.He said the country was bigger than any individual’s interests and the leaders’ main concern at all times must be the people.
