MAPAI Transport Company owner Jacob Luke has slammed the Government and its land transport agencies for not having in place training for highway drivers.
He said this after Lae City Council police intercepted and questioned six Mapai training drivers for using a Kenworth truck for driving lessons at the old Lae airport.
“What does the Government or its agents have in place to train highway drivers for this important industry?” Luke said,
The truck had an ‘L’ plate in front with a container on a trailer when police imposed a K500 spot fine for allegedly violating motor traffic rules by using a container truck for driving lessons in the city.
