MAPRIK district in East Sepik will upgrade its local level government administrations starting with the building of a rural police post.

MP John Simon  said at the construction site of the Yamil-Tamaui LLG administration centre on Monday that work on the police patrol post began two weeks ago.

The district allocated K500,000 to build the police post.

He said building LLG centres in the district would bring government services to the people.

About K1 million is needed to build the LLG centre at Yamil-Tamaui.

“This year we will construct the building here at the Yamil-Tamaui LLG centre,” Simon said.

“Next year, work will start at one of the LLG centres and this will continue until we  upgrade our six LLGs.”
