THE National Court has returned to Maprik in East Sepik after nearly 28 years.
The National Judicial Services (NJS), through a PNG-Australia law and justice partnership, was able to expand capacity in terms of manpower and facilities in Waigani, Port Moresby.
As a result, it has extended National Court services to provinces and districts.
Among others, Maprik was one of the lucky districts to have the service.
Local MP John Simon was a happy man and thanked the NJS for bringing the court to them.
Acting judge of the National and Supreme Courts Justice Iova Geita and Simon attended the welcome ceremony.
Other provinces and districts in the country can also expect the Supreme and National Court Services to be reaching it in the near future.
