Marie Stopes extends services to Nonga

FAMILY planning and reproductive health services will now be available in East New Britain at the Nonga Hospital through the new Marie Stopes branch opened on Friday.
MSPNG is an international non-governmental organisation that provides family planning and reproductive health services.
MSPNG service delivery director Loretta Bele said PNG continued to have some of the poorest health outcomes in the region.
Bele said this was evident for maternal and child-related indicators so family planning was considered cost-effective interventions to improve maternal health and promote sustainable population growth in the country.
Bele said MSPNG worked in partnership with the Department of Health and provinces to provide family planning and sexual reproductive healthcare services.
