Marijuana trade becoming normal

Letters

TRADING of marijuana is now an everyday event mostly at bus stops and especially where betel nut trading takes place.
Vendors know who sells marijuana and how their parcels are placed next to empty boxes or among the husks dropped on the side.
Buyers are as young as grade 8 students, male and female alike.
Marijuana has mind-altering compounds that affect the brain and body.
It can be addictive and may be harmful to some people’s health.
Marijuana affects brain development.
When people begin using it as teenagers, the drug may impair thinking, memory and learning functions.
It may affect how the brain builds connections between the areas necessary for these functions.
Can our police can move around in unmarked vehicles to these hot spots and arrest those in possession of it.
We need more police presence in such areas to deter the sales.
