Marriage and God

Letters

MARRIAGE, as we all know, is basically the ceremony in which two people (obviously each of the opposite sex) are joined together formally in a union.
According to the Bible (Genesis 1:27, 28), “God created mankind in his own image … God blessed them and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground’.”
Marriage is therefore holy because it was blessed and sanctified by God himself.
Marriage is what creates a nation, and races or groups of people. In the past it was valued and viewed not as an event but as a process which required proper planning and preparations by our ancestors.
However, this view is no longer held by people today and as a result the moral values of marriage are depreciating and adultery and fornication are becoming a norm in our society.
Adult-only activities like sex that is supposed to be done within a marriage circle and in a marriage bed is now being done anyhow, anywhere, anytime between any two people regardless of their age.
If young people of reasonable age are taught the importance of marriage and are urged to view and value marriage like it was viewed and valued in the past, we will see positive results and have fewer problems.
