Maru explains funds
EVERY district in the country gets the same amount of district support improvement programme (DSIP) funds and it depends on how they manage the money to develop their areas.
Yangoru-Saussia MP Richard Maru told The National that his district also got the same amount and every toea was accounted for and the results spoke from the development taking place in the district.
“It is wise financial management and allocation of scarce resources is based on service delivery,” he said.
Maru said his district launched some completed projects, including a four-in-one classroom at Paparom Primary School in Numbo.
He said he was confident that the other 15 incomplete projects, including the water sanitation and hygiene programme (Wash), rural electrification, new health centres, classrooms and teacher houses would be completed this year.
Maru said road maintenance projects would continue in the district.
He said it was important for the people in the district to understand that all roads within the district could not be maintained within a year because funds were limited.
