NEWLY elected Richard Maru has pledged to work with all elite Yangoru-Sausia people to develop the electorate and East Sepik province.
Maru said past MPs had not used elite people, resulting in deteriorating infrastructure and economy in the electorate despite boasting of having a high turnout of elites working in private and public sectors throughout the country and overseas.
On his arrival at Port Moresby’s Jackson Airport from Wewak, the former National Development Bank managing director appealed to Yangoru-Sausia candidates to put their differences aside and work with him to develop the electorate.
“I’m appealing to the outgoing MP Peter Wararu to respect the people’s choice and not to take my win to the court. This is not his office.”
He said his main task now was to form the government.
