Masiu gives K50,000 for new church building

SOUTH Bougainville MP Timothy Masiu has given K50,000 for the new Oria Seventh-day Adventist church building and has pledged another K50,000.
Masiu gave K20,000 to Oria Primary School last year which was used to pay for renovations of teachers’ houses. He has pledged to fund the school’s library building.
Masiu made a commitment to allocate one tenth of the K10 million in DSIP funding to churches in South Bougainville, starting this year.
Masiu encouraged church officials to be mindful of their roles, including the giving of tithes and offerings to fund the church’s operations.
Church elder John Tovilo said the new church building would cost about K400,000. The church members have raised K40,000 so fart.
